Ensuring accountability

Since taking office in 2005, Governor Gregoire and her administration have been leaders in advancing accountability and transparency to citizens. In addition to following accountability requirements of the Recovery Act, we are continuing to lead the way in making our business accountable, accessible, and available to Washington citizens.

  • Performance and results. Learn about the award-winning accountability forums and Government Management Accountability and Performance process that Gov. Gregoire uses to publicly monitor state agency performance in using economic recovery dollars wisely.

  • Governor certifications. See certified projects that are both appropriate to receive and prepared to successfully implement federal recovery funding. This certification is necessary for the projects to receive funding and is a key component of the Recovery Act’s accountability process.

  • Oversight for transportation and infrastructure projects. Find updates to the U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

  • Report to public. Read previous quarterly reports to the public that focused on the progress and results of the Recovery Act in Washington state.

  • State agency recovery plans. See early recovery plans from state agencies for determining how funds would be used strategically, tracked, managed, accounted for, and publicly reported.
